I have some unsynchronized audio with video. Some of the clips show a +/- offset which then with right click, returns the synchronization. But some pairs of audio and video don't have this. What is the best/simplest way to return these clips to their proper relationship.

thanks

Imported Video play way too quick [Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017]

Hello,

I imported a video.mov into Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017. The video duration is 14:49 but when imported into Premiere it was speeded up incredibly to only 1:03.

I tried to convert .mov to .mp4. Once imported the result is still the same. I imported other videos, it is also speeded up like that.

However when I import sound mp3 it plays normal.

Any help appreciated!

Thank you

Windows 10 - Adobe Premiere Pro 2017.1 crashes on startup

About 3 - 5 seconds after launch of Premiere Pro CC 2017.1 it'll crash. At the start screen.

Got Windows 10 Creators Update, fully updated, i7 CPU, 32 GB RAM, 1TB Crucial SSD, 4 TB WD HDD, Nvidia GForce 960 and Premiere Pro has never failed before.

I googled and found and followed a few suggestions, like "latest Nvidia drivers", "Turn off on board intel graphics", "Update Intel graphics even if it's disabled", "Update SSD Firmware and driver", "Uninstall and install PP",  "Uninstall and use CC Cleaner tool", "Uninstall PP and manually clean registry". To no avail.

I've tried both the Microsoft and Nvidia drivers, even tried to uninstall the Nvidia drivers and run the Intel HD 4600 instead, but got the same error.

I'm currently running out of ideas. Reinstalling Windows is not a very good option, as we're replacing our PCs in two months, so I'd very much appreciate any new ideas.

Thanks in advance,

Hasse

Premiere Pro CC 17.1.2 AAF Export -> Resolve

Hi,

i ran into an export Problem on Windows 10 with PPro CC 17.1.2 oaf export.

I have an Timeline with Canon C300 MXF 4k Files linked and edited but if i export an AAF for Resolve Grading, the Clips in the AAF are offsetted by a random 0-24 Frames number.

In the Timeline there are 100 clips.

Every edit is exported correct, matches the right TimeCode.

But ALL of the 100 clips are Offseted by a random 0-24 Frames each with an different offset.

If i reimport the exported AAF to an empty Premiere Project the TimeCode Shift is already there. This is not an Resolve Problem.
If i export the same Timeline as XML everything works fine and there are no random Clip Offsets.

anyone else ran into this bug?

regards,

Elmar

Premiere duplicating my files into the root folder after I've already imported into the project?

Hey there.

I've had this issue happen once before and I assumed there was something that I might have missed since at the time I wasn't as proficient in Premiere as I am now.

The problem I think started with the Media Browser. I recently started a new project and I thought I'd try importing from the card through media browser because I thought it would be a good idea to use premiere to simultaneously import my footage into the project & to my hard drive. The disappointing part is the way media browser didn't allow me to choose a specific folder on my hard drive where I want the footage to go, but instead placed it in the root folder where my project is located.

After the 2nd shoot day, I decided to ignore media browser and instead import the files the way I normally have (Take off card into my hard drive, organize the folders, then import said folders into Premiere). What's happened here (and I have no idea where exactly this issue is coming from) is now after I've dragged the footage into my bins in Premiere, the footage for some reason is being "processed" by Premiere and being duplicated into my root project folder for reasons not entirely clear to me.

So to paint the picture, I'd already transferred the footage off my card into my "Day-2" folder on my hard drive, then dragged the footage into Premiere so that it's in my project:

Screen Shot 2017-08-16 at 3.58.59 PM.pngScreen Shot 2017-08-16 at 3.59.08 PM.png

and Premiere decides to duplicate all those files I've put into Premiere on the root folder as if those files are non-existent on the hard drive or something. Here is what it looks like (i've removed most of the duplicates already, these are the remaining ones so you know what it looks like) -

Screen Shot 2017-08-16 at 3.59.37 PM.png

& for the record, I never keep loose files in the root folder of a project, everything is always in folders - Hence why this is a major nuisance.

Why is this happening and how can I prevent/control this? I'm certain it has something to do with me having tried to use the Media browser at first, since this is the only factor that has changed between this and other projects I've done. I unchecked "ingest" in the media browser while it was duplicating my files but that did nothing. I saw other forum posts that suggests unchecking "allow duplicate media during project import" but that was unchecked from the get-go so I know this wasn't the issue.

Hello,

I'm building a presentation where I'd like to have a thumbnail sized image on it. When I advance, I'd like that image to grow to full screen and play (as it's the first image of a video file). When the Animated marketing video is done, I'd like it to advance to the next frame. Still I would be greatful for suggestions about this.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

I´m trying to this awesome creative transition that I think is super cool, one problem is when I am done masking one of the glass, I can´t mask the other, I tried creating two layers, seperate masks, I tried having a second mask, nothing works.  I´ll provide you with a screenshot.Screen Shot 2017-08-16 at 12.48.02 PM.png

As you see there is a building behind that mask, but when I try to do the other glass, I can´t get it to work..

RED footage + Premiere lagging horribly

$

Hey folks,

I have a very capable machine and I've been trying to edit a film I shot on the Epic W (8K).

While the content ranges from 6-8K, RCX can load the footage with ease at half resolution for realtime playback.

In premiere, I put a clip on the timeline, set preview quality to 1/16th, and I have to wait about 15 seconds after I hit the space bar for anything to play.

When it does play, the audio is constantly dropping out, and premiere freezes / force quits roughly every 5 minutes from simple tasks like shifting a clip on the timeline.

It's to the point where I'm having to save after every single key stroke and I'm still losing a tremendous amount of time with all the lag and freezes / force quits.

I've tried the following:

-Clearing cache & redirecting to a new external drive

-Switching CUDA rendering on and off

-Ensuring that timeline resolution matches clip resolution

-Allocated 61GB of RAM to premiere (although I see it only uses about 4GB of ram in activity monitor during playback)

-Ensured that "optimize rendering for performance" was selected

-Changed the location of the project file to my desktop, leaving the footage on my thunderbolt G drive

-Ensured there were no effects like Lumetri on the clips that could be causing the crash

-DId a fresh install of Premiere

Here are my machine specs:

Mac Pro

macOS Sierra 10.12.3

2.7GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon #5

64GB 1866 MHz DDR3

Dual AMD FirePro D700 6144MB

Premiere Pro CC 2017.1.2 (11.1.2(22) Build)

Best,

Chris

Creative Cloud & MacBook Air

After some research I've read that the MacBook Air barely has enough power to run Premiere and AE. I need a laptop to use on the road a couple times throughout the year so whatever I buy wouldn't be my daily driver, I have a Mac Pro in my office. Given the following stats of the 2015 Air I'd like some opinions as to whether or not it'll serve me well:

  • 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5 (Broadwell)
  • 8GB of 1600 MHz LPDDR3 RAM
  • 256GB PCIe-Based Flash Storage
  • Integrated Intel HD Graphics 6000

If any of those specs are lacking which need the most improvement? Thanks for your help!

Question about binding an audio track to a video track

$

My Workflow:

I am shooting video with my DSLR which is equiped with a shotgun mic (Canon EOS T6i with Rode shotgun mic in the hotshoe) I also have a lavalier mic on my subject which goes into my music rig (a mac book pro with Presonus firestudio interface) this rig is only for audio only, I do video on a different PC laptop. Once I process the audio into an MP3 file and drop it into my Premiere session it becomes track A2 with the audio from the camera being A1. The audio from the camera is unusable to me because of the reflective surfaces in the room so I mute that track. . I synch up my audio with my video by using an old fashioned clapper before the take then after the audio is in my Premiere I move it around until the clap in my lav audio lines up with the clap in my camera audio. I then have to cut both the video, A1 audio (from camera) and the A2 track to remove my intro with the clapper.

My Question:

Is there a way to lock my V1 with my A2 so when I move one around they stay together? When they are independent of each other I have to be very careful not to move one out of synch with the other. If possible I'd like my A2 track to behave like the Audio embedded with the video, even replacing the A1 track all together since I don't want it.

I think I could start a new project put in a video clip, put in my audio from my audio rig, synch them up, mute the A1 from the camera and export that with the clapper bit cut out. Then take that bit and drop it into my main project but there's got to be an easier way.

Just a note I know that I can get my lav audio into camera and I also know about hacking the OS on my camera to have more audio options. I don't want to do either of these. I'm interested in preserving my current workflow for other reasons.(which I can explain if someone really wants to know).

I am working out of this book: "Adobe Premiere Pro Cc Classroom in a Book, 1/E (2017 Release)" so you can refer to anything in that if it makes it easier to help me.

Thank you

Project Manager - Consolidating and Duplicating Proxies

$
0
0

Just found a new issue in CC2017 regarding the Project Manager - Consolidate and Transcode functionality.

In summary: Consolidating a project that has attached proxies results in every single attached proxy copying over, regardless of "Exclude Unused Clips" checkbox. In the resulting consolidated project, the newly trimmed sequences will now be attached to untrimmed proxies, resulting in out of sync original and proxy media.

Since there is no ability to "unattach" proxies, one must either delete or rename the proxy files so they appear offline and go through the "offline media" dialogues, otherwise, every attached proxy file in your project, regardless of whether or not it is used or unused, will be copied into your consolidated files folder. Also, for files that ARE used AND have attached proxies, the consolidated project will now have out of sync proxies as the proxy clips were copied over and not trimmed, unlike the newly trimmed original files.

Rendered video plays too fast and I sound like a chipmunk

$

My video looked and sounded good until it was rendered.  Then the rendered video was too fast and though the audio and video seem to sync up fine, my voiceover sounds like a chipmunk.  The original Premiere project still plays back fine unless I disconnect the mic.

I’ve done a lot of reading about this the last few days, and I understand there is a possible fix if you can select “No Input” in the Audio Hardware settings, but that option is not available for me (see screen shot below).  I have also included screen shots of my export settings.  I am using a Mac computer with the latest Premiere updates and Sierra version 10.12.6.

Sorry for the long post; I'm including as much info as possible in the hopes there is something obvious.  Please tell me there is an easy fix for this, because I really am learning as I go here.  I have rendered it 4 different times, with the same results.

I used only one video source, a Sony Handycam, and here are the properties from one of the video clips:

File Path: /Volumes/TOSHIBA EXT/YouTube Videos/July 2017/82.mov

Type: MPEG Movie

File Size: 116.87 MB

Image Size: 1920 x 1080

Frame Rate: 30.00

Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - 6 channels

Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - 6 channels

Total Duration: 00:01:31:03

Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0

VR Projection: None

I used two audio sources:

1/ My voiceover done in Premiere, using an H2N Zoom mic connected via USB and Audio I/F (I had to do a lot of fiddling to make this work in the first place, so I’m not sure if the sampling frequency was set at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz, but one of them was making my audio too fast right in the voiceover playback.  Right now it seems to work best for playback if it is set at 44.1 kHz).  The mic has the latest firmware installed.  Here are the properties from one of those audio clips:

File Path: /Users/sandbag/Documents/YouTube/July 2017 - Bookmarks Etc/Adobe Premiere Pro Captured Audio/I Heart Books and One More Chapter - July 2017/Audio 4_30.wav

Type: Windows WAVE audio file

File Size: 42.89 MB

Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo

Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo

Total Duration: 00:01:57:05508

VR Projection: None

2/ A music track I purchased from Pond5.  Here are the properties from that audio clip:

File Path: /Users/sandbag/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Dean Wagg/Production Music For Media/The Twinkly Fairy Forest Magic Light Wonder.mp3

Type: MP3 Audio

File Size: 4.48 MB

Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz - compressed - Stereo

Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo

Total Duration: 00:01:57:23148

VR Projection: None
