180 VR

$

I was thinking this would not be so difficult doing 180 VR with the Samsumg 360 camera. Imported into Premiere Pro and just doing a small text export. Then copied to my phone to test in a player. But the video does not load in the player on iphone. Other VR videos load on my phone.

Do I need a seperate program to inject the metadata after I edit in Premiere or does Adobe premiere inject the metadata?

Also Is there a program to easily test my VR videos once exported by premiere?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Kevin

Hello everyone. I'm trying to finish up a short film project and this problem has brought the entire production to a grinding halt.

I've spent weeks trying to work around the issue that for a while would only pop up once every 20 minutes or so but now it's as soon as you start the program. We can no longer edit the film.

The film is a grant awardee so we've now had to ask for a delivery extension and not able to receive a portion of our funding due to this delay.

After reading through forums here are all the things we've tried with no luck:

  • reset all the cache settings
  • deleted cache, moved it to another drive and tried that option as well
  • removed any filters to see if they are causing the issue
  • re-formatted the computer and reinstalled the OS and Premiere with no luck
  • having CUDA both on and off with no difference

Computer/hardware setup:

  • (film shot on the RED Epic dragon, working with only the original red files)
  • Windows 10 (fresh install with latest updates)
  • latest version of Premier
  • intel i7-4960x CPU
  • 64gb ram
  • GTX Titan-X gpu (with latest version of nvidia software)
  • OS/Premier on 2xSSD's in raid0
  • project/cache on a 25tb raid3 array (using an ARECA raid card with latest software updates)

Restarting the whole project is not an option at this point. We won't be able to ask for another extension on our deadline.

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated!

Premiere CC Open Captions - Poor rendering (aliasing)

Hi

I'm creating open captions (burned in) on a project in premiere pro CC. I am finding it hard to display text that looks nice visually as the text has very jagged edges. Are there no aliasing options like there are for titles ? The lack of options seems crazy. I tried using a blur effect to soften the text but this seems to behave a bit weirdly, there is a threshold before the blur has any effect at all and then it is too strong.

Someone suggested creating the subtitles at twice the size, and although this is a bit of an odd work around for something so basic, my captions are all done and I can no longer change the format size (the reason why this limitation is in place is beyond me)

Anyone have a good work around for making premiere captions nice and smooth (the same way any other program less than 25 years old can...)?

thanks!!

Open timeline while closing others

Hi there,

Looking for a way to prevent multiple timelines opening in the timeline panel. I work with many sequences in one project and becomes annoying when they are all open at the same time. I know I can close the others by right-clicking current timeline, but I'd rather it be when I open a timeline it replaces the previous.

I'm looking for an action analogous to option-clicking a folder in Finder. Whereas it opens the new folder in place of the current.

Thanks,

Premiere Pro Can't Play DSLR Without Lagging?

This software with every update seems to get progressively worse.

My operating system:

Screen Shot 2017-06-12 at 8.24.22 PM.png

Screen Shot 2017-06-12 at 8.28.27 PM.png

Ignore what This thing says my storage is... the 110GB at the bottom is the accurate count of how much space I have.

There is a severe lag. I am using the LATEST updated version of Premiere. I am editing 1080p footage from a Canon Rebel T3i, also 1080p footage from an iPhone. When I first open the program it works smoothly then as time goes on (this accounts for 70% of my use of the software), the program window video slows, freezes, lags, goes black and sometimes takes several minutes to catch up or longer to the point where I have to close it and start it over again. This has been happening only in the past 2 months.

One of the "video experts" told me that although my computer is powerful it is not powerful enough to play DSLR footage seamlessly. Lie. I will probably come off as a jerk but I am extremely frustrated as this is literally my job and I am paying Adobe monthly for this service. I also paid $2500 for a powerful laptop that is BUILT for work like this and you're going to tell me my computer is not powerful enough to play baby DSLR footage at 1/4 quality? The same software that was used to million dollar hollywood movies such as Deadpool and Gone Girl? Come on.

What's going on with this software? Just now I was trying to import music into a bin that I had open by right-clicking and import and the files kept going into random other bins and I had to actually go through each of my 7 bins searching to find the music and clips I imported. The new text tool also is extremely laggy. Why do I have to highlight the text I'm working on to change the font, leading, size etc? I have the font clicked, why doesn't it just change on its own?

Any fixes to this would be helpful. The lag is the most important part as it is literally wasting my time and making me late with deliverables. Does anyone know when the next update is?

DNG Import from DJI X5R causes very dark blues

Hello,

I've been working with my X5R (on Osmo here) camera for a while now, currently i'm importing from SSD to Mac using Cinelight into a Premiere pro compatible DNG sequence.

Most of the time it works really nicely but occasionally in low light I get this effect where the blue color is clipped badly like its blown out.   The camera records simultaneously to .mp4 format which is exposed evenly and without the blue clipping.  Also the DNG files don't show the same effect, so the issue must be in the processing and not the files (I hope?).

I have no idea where to start on this, any help would really be appreciated.

I've tried to desaturate the blue with a HSL key but the resulting areas go directly to full back not to the default black point for the video.

RGB (245,245,245) rendering incorrectly in CS6

$

This matter relates to a previous thread (How do I generate pure rendered grayscale?), but I have narrowed down the problem. I'm using CS6 under OSX.

Fault with Gray (244)

Using the Titler in Premiere CS6, I set up a gray rectangle of RGB (245, 245, 245). I'll call that Gray (245).

When I:

  • render as H.264 (Android Tablet preset, or any other)
  • play the video in QuickTime 7
  • and use the DigitalColor Meter (set to native values) to determine the colour…

…the colour is shown as Gray (244).

When I import the rendered file back into Premiere and drag it into a timeline, the same problem exists.

Ques 1

Is this change in colour value a bug in Premiere or Media Encoder, a rounding error, or some other cause? If anyone would care to test later versions of Premiere, the file can be downloaded here:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/v831y3rpn4bz3of/Calibration_02.prproj.zip

Other colour rendering faults

I repeated the test with Gray (244), Gray (251), and Gray (252), and rendering via H.264 and QuickTime (ProRes 4444). This is what happens to the test colours:

Rendered as H.264

Gray (245) –> 244

Gray (252) –> 251

Rendered as ProRes 4444

Gray (244) –> 245

Gray  (251) –> 252

Almost makes me want to give Premiere the boot and try FCP!

11.1.1 (15) build problems with exporting Quicktime DNxHD

None of my previous presets will work - One set of timelines is made up of DNxHD 1080i50 @120Mbs with supers made in AE with alpha channel. The entire source timelines are in the same codec. I try to render to the same codec and I get a preview not available and then a red frame int he preview box and AME locks up. If I recreate the preset from scratch it will render but with multiple errors on the alpha channelled graphics sections so I suspect they are causing the error.  I also get identical errors when going from progressive 23.976 to the same DNxHD codec.

I export the same timeline with H264 and it exports perfectly. So going to a brand new codec no problems - going to exactly the same codec as the original - massive problems.

This is a brand new issue with this release. I also tried exporting directly from PP - same issues although obviously I can't see the previews just the hang.

Further troubleshooting steps that failed : tried using maximum render quality which I believe bypasses the video card - same error.

I'm currently loading the project up on my Mac lappy and will report is I have the same issues there.

Can I copy cuts?

So I have started to edit some highlights of a football match but I've forgotten to put in a timer for the game and I've already cut most of it.

Is there a way to copy the cuts from the sequence/clips and paste them onto another layer?

Want to avoid lining it all up manually...

(There is no layer I can replace with the timer)

Cheers.

XPS 15 VS MAC BOOK PRO?

What do you guys think is better for Premiere/AFX? Is it true a Cuda card will perform better than an Open GL? This is the XPS I am thinking about...Most of my clients all use Macs, but usually I will use a program called Mac drive when I need to edit off a Mac formatted drive. Im not sure how risky that is.

Hi All,

Is there any way we can go through a large project and find the MXF-OP Atom files in that project?

Is there any way to get the codec/wrapper details of the files in a Premiere project?

We are trying to achieve this using our HTML5-CEP based panel.

Thanks and Regards,

Jagged edges for new Essential Graphics Titler

Hi guys,

I'm running Premiere Pro 11.1.0 (222 Build).

I find that the Essential Graphics Titler is producing titles with more jagged edges as compared to the Legacy Titler. Same issue over a few machines. Is there a fix for this? See the screengrab attached.

(Above text is legacy, below is the new essential graphics.)

Premiere Pro won't let me export at all!

First time on the forums so please bare with me.

First here are my computer specs:

Processor: intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400T CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21GHz

Installed memory (RAM): 12.0 GB

System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Computer: Dell (All-In-One)

I've got an issue going on with exporting a video in Premiere. So, I've got a 30 minute video needing to export. It gets to 92% and shuts down and shows the error message I sent with this post. Only thing weird about this project is within the sequence I have all of my shots in 1920x1080 except for one wide shot of the entire ceremony that was for some reason shot in 1280x720. Sorry for this **** show of a question, it's just been going on for a week and I'm creeping up on a deadline. This is the first time anything like this has occurred during an export and i am totally lost.  Any advice or knowledge would be great! I am desperate!

Can I Render With AMD Radeon R7 M445 (4Gb)?

$

Hello,

I recently bought a notebook for me which has an integrated GPU AMD Radeon R7 M440 on it. The problem is that I cannot select the Open CL option for rendering with my GPU on adobe premiere pro or encoder. I know that Adobe recently blocked some GPU cards for this function, cause they are too old. But here is the deal: thats not the case for AMD Radeon R7 M445 (4GB). On my point of view Its not an obsolete GPU. Why my GPU card is not on the list? Its because there is an incompatibility going on or there is another kind of problem going on, like it hasnt be tested and aproved yet by Adobe?

Thanks

Export Settings Advice Sought

I have CC Premiere Pro 2017 installed on Windows 10 and Mac 10.11.6.  Using either system, is it possible to use Encoder 2017 to export the following file type:

Video Encoding: MPEG-2 Long GOP

File Type: MXF OP1A

HD 1080i (1920x1080@29.7)

Bitrate: 24Mbps

Chroma: 4:2:2

Audio Encoding: AIFF

Audio Bits Sample:24

Audio Channels:4

Embedded MetaData: SMPT436M

Embedded CC: CEA 708

Unsure how to achieve the 24Mbps and the MPEG-2 Long GOP.

Thank you.

Program window resolution problem

Hello. I am a new user of Premier Pro CC 2017. When I drag a source clip to the timeline, it appears in the Program window in a reduced resolution. In other words the head and feet of a subject are cut off. No adjustments of zoom or resolution in the Program window have any effect.

How can I fix to see whole frame?
